Rockfish Games have delayed the Early Access release date for their space RPG Everspace 2, due to the new release date of Cyberpunk 2077.

The Early Access was originally meant to release on Windows PC (via Steam) in mid-December, but Rockfish Games have decided to push the release back until January 2021 due to Cyberpunk 2077‘s delayed December 10th release date. Similar had occurred with Path of Exile’s 3.13 update.

“Let’s get the cyber elephant out of the room right away: The Cyberpunk 2077 release has just been pushed back to December 10, which is a major blow to our planned EVERSPACE 2 Early Access release in mid-December. Not only will every media outlet and content creator cover the arguably most-anticipated AAA game in history throughout the entire holiday season (and not much else), we also know that there’s quite a bit of audience overlap within our community (and our team), so…

After a quick consultation with our marketing friends at Evolve PR, Plan Of Attack, and Swordfish PR, we’ve decided to push back the EVERSPACE 2 Early Access release to January. We know that sucks, but hear us out! There’s actually some good in this.”

To compensate, the developers of Everspace 2 will be releasing a closed beta for all eligible Kickstarter backers on November 2nd. The announcement also discusses the basics of the game’s crafting system, and shows off the Gunship, a heavy fighter with four weapon hardpoints and an auto turret. You can find the rundown (via Steam) below:
