Every Video Game Release Coming Soon For Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch has been a massive boon for Nintendo. Gamers love the portability, and the system is capable of porting some of the best AAA titles currently available on the market. The motion controls are more than just a gimmick and thanks to the Pro Controller, players itching for a more "traditional console experience" can easily toss their Nintendo Switch games onto any modern television or monitor.

Here's a look at all of the titles we can expect to see on the Nintendo Switch in 2021.

October's Nintendo Switch games lineup is still far from complete, but there is already plenty of reasons to be excited. Metroid Dread, which has been rumored to be in development for years, will debut this year, reviving the 2D era of this iconic franchise. FIFA 22: Legacy Edition might not provide much beyond an updated roster, but the license's appeal should still attract some interest. While only available through Cloud Gaming, Marvel Guardians Of The Galaxy will also be available for the Nintendo Switch. Mario Party Superstars looks set to be a great celebration of Nintendo's franchise and, hopefully, a return to form following a few average entries. Sunshine Manor promises some Indie Horror chills with its pixelated top-down style and RPG elements. The title acts as the prequel to Camp Sunshine (2016), which saw very positive reviews from fans on Steam.

  • October 1: FIFA 22: Legacy Edition (Switch)
  • October 5: Exophobia (PS5, PS4, XBX/S, XBO, Switch, PC)

There is a lot of gaming to be done before November 2021, but the month is already shaping up. Even if there isn't a mass of AAA titles to be hyped for, Pokemon fans will have all they need to be happy with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Pokemon is not the only JRPG franchise slated for a big release in November 2021 as Shin Megami Tensei 5 will also finally become a reality. Blue Reflection: Second Light is more of a niche release compared to Pokemon and Shin Megami Tensei, but it is another JRPG coming to the Nintendo Switch during November 2021. Just Dance 2022 and Farming Simulator 22 will be THE games of 2021 for certain player bases.

  • November 4: Just Dance 2022 (PS5, PS4, XBX/S, XBO, Switch, PC, Stadia)
  • November 5: Fast & Furious Spy Racers: Rise of SH1FT3R (PS4, XBO, Switch)

  • November 22: Farming Simulator 22 (PS5, PS4, XBX/S, XBO, Switch, PC)

December is in the same boat as November so don't be surprised if the Switch sees quite a few releases drop just before the Holidays. As of now, players can look forward to Aeterna Noctis (December 15th), a 2D sidescrolling Metroidvania that gives off Hollow Knight vibes with its beautiful visuals and dark, dreary landscapes. Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp will bring the two classic GBA turn-based strategy games to the Nintendo Switch, while Danganronpa Decadence packages four games into a single collection.

  • December 3: Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp (Switch)
  • December 3: Danganronpa Decadence (Switch)
  • December 15: Aeterna Noctis (PS5, PS4, XBX/S, XBO, Switch, PC)

E3 should give players a much better idea of when they can expect some of these big-name releases but 2021 features a lot of "unknown titles" that are slotted to drop this year. Those that own a Nintendo Switch can anxiously await The House Of The Dead: Remake, which brings the horror arcade shooter classic to the hybrid console and should be a blast thanks to the Switch's motion controls. Pokemon fans should also see Temtem, a similar monster-catching-and-taming experience that offers up some unique gameplay elements and styles.

Nintendo Switch fans already have something to look forward to in 2022 with Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The game is shaping up to be a "core Pokemon experience" but offers unique RPG elements and a catching system that has players much more involved in the process. Things look even more promising in 2022 and beyond but it's important to note that not all of the following titles will drop on the Nintendo Switch. Still, with an upcoming console refresh and many developers looking to port onto the beloved systems, it's unclear just how many of these releases might actually make it to Switch fans. That said, Bayonetta 3 is planned to drop onto the handheld-hybrid, and Hollow Knight: Silksong is a shoo-in to appear on the Switch at some point. Nintendo fans have been waiting a long time for Metroid Prime 4 and Pikmin 4, two games that will hopefully join the Switch's library in due time. There's already a lot of big-name titles expected to make their way to the Switch in the future.

The industry has yet to get any concrete information concerning the following games and it's unclear if any of them will actually release on the Switch but it's still fun to think about what players may possibly see in the future. Grand Theft Auto 6 seems like an inevitability at this point, although it will almost certainly not be available on the Switch, and Star Wars fans would definitely love to fight their way through enemies as The Mandalorian. Hopefully, some of these potential rumors will become a reality in the next few years.
