Eville Looks Like Fancy, Fantasy Among Us

Eville, the upcoming social deduction game that really leans into its Among Us comparisons, got another trailer at Gamescom today, revealing that there's actually a whole lot to get up to when you're dead. While the Steam description proudly reads, "Art thou sus?!", the new trailer actually shows that there will be a lot of difference between this and Among Us.

As seen in the official gameplay walkthrough Eville features character roles, such as guard and trapper. There's also a focus on gathering resources needed to protect yourself and the townsfolk, as you attempt to survive the night as the "imposters" lurk.

One of the biggest ways Eville separates itself from Among Us is the fact that death is not the end. Rather than just float around as a ghost, you can heal allies or wake them up when they're in danger. This all takes place in a new location unique to dead players: the Underworld.

On top of all that, you can also perform tasks for the spirit NPCs in the Underworld, which awards you with tokens to buy new abilities.

An Eville demo is currently available on Steam, so you can try out these mechanics for yourself. The game has no confirmed release date, but will be available via Steam Early Access in early 2022.
