Fall Guys Dev Reveals Why The Game Isn’t Available For Xbox, Mobile

Fall Guys has been available for less than a month, and it has already become a sensation in the gaming community. Even Twitch Rivals had an event where many of the platform’s most iconic streamers went head-to-head in some of the mini games that Fall Guys has so offer. With this soaring popularity, many are asking why the game isn’t being brought to other platforms like mobile devices or Xbox consoles.

Currently, Fall Guys is only available on the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms, and there has been no word from the developer on expanding the ways that fans can play this game. Even though there was a fake Fall Guys mobile app ad soon after the game’s release, this is actually not the case, though many fans are hoping it will release on mobile eventually. However, one of the game’s devs has opened up about why it hasn’t started working on bringing the game to new platforms.

Recently, Fall Guys lead designer Joe Walsh spoke on the podcast “Talk Guys” to talk about the game. While on the podcast, he specifically talked about this topic and said that Mediatonic isn’t working on porting to the game to mobile, Xbox, or Switch at this time. Instead, Walsh says that the developer is focusing on improving the game on the platforms that it is currently on.

Mediatonic is doing this to “build trust with the community” and show that it is gives the game and those who play it the support they deserve. While the dev team is working on making sure Fall Guys is where Mediatonic wants the game to be, Walsh feels that it is best to not think about porting the game for the time being.

However, Walsh does admit that this decision may cost the game in the short term. In spite of this, the Fall Guys team feels that it is their duty first to build the relationship with the community that the game currently has. While Mediatonic won’t be working on porting the game at this time, Walsh isn’t saying that it will never happen — it just won’t happen now.

While this may disappoint some fans, it goes to show how much the devs care about the people who play their games. The game recently started a competition to include a new skin for Fall Guys for whoever pledged the largest charity donation to Special Effect, a non-profit organization that supports gamers with physical disabilities. In ways like this, Mediatonic shows its huge support for those who love its game.

Fall Guys is available now on PC and PS4.
