Fan Art Imagines The Look Of The MCU’s Moon Knight

A talented artist and comic book fan designed a concept sketch of Moon Knight, which hopefully will look like Oscar Isaac's version of the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moon Knight is often dubbed as "Marvel's Batman" because he is also a crime-fighting vigilante with a lot of money.

Despite the commonalities between Batman and Moon Knight, there are a good amount of things that separate the two. Moon Knight, the alter-ego of Marc Spector, was a former mercenary who was betrayed during his last contract mission. He then encountered the Egyptian moon god, Khons (often spelled as Khonsu or Chons), and made a deal to become their avatar on Earth in order to get a second chance to come back to life.

Moon Knight will be getting his own Marvel Studios series on Disney Plus that will star Isaac in the title role. There have been a few leaks coming out about a potential villain of the show as well as a rumored screenshot of the costume. However, for the most part, the show has been kept quietly under wraps, which is good for fans who want to go into Moon Knight fresh without anything spoiled for them.

Datrinti's rendition of the character combines comic accuracy with practicality, as it amazingly was able to capture both the look from the comics while also making it look like it's combat-ready and not a cheap cosplay. A lot of superhero costumes from the comics would generally look like Party City knock offs if they were replicated in real life, so it's always up to the designers to make sure they keep the original look while making it look like it can exist in today's world, or else they run the risk of campiness. Marvel costumes are no exception.

Datrinti is also known for other renditions on their Instagram, including artwork of DC characters such as Superman, Supergirl, and Black Adam. They even did a rendition on the popular animated television series Invincible, which is slated to get two more seasons following the success of its first.

Datrinti also has a Patreon where fans of their work can go to support. Check out their Patreon here as well as their Instagram, which is linked below. Datrinti promises much more work coming as well as their own comic book titled RIOT.

Marvel Studios' Moon Knight is expected to be released on Disney Plus in 2022.
