SpongeBob fans think that they've spotted a tease for a brand new SpongeBob game to be announced during THQ Nordic's 10th Anniversary live stream.
THQ Nordic recently announced that it will be holding a 10th Anniversary digital event and that some brand new titles from its studios would be revealed during the live stream.

Alongside that announcement came the seemingly innocuous showing of a 10th Anniversary event logo, which has the number ten filled with images of games from THQ Nordic. Although most of the renders are of games that fans will recognise, such as Destroy All Humans and BioMutant, one image caught fans off guard.
On the left side of the logo is a purple divide, which has SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy within it. The first thought is that it's probably for Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated. No big deal, right? Upon closer inspection, however, fans realised that it is a brand new render that they haven't seen before, and certainly isn't tied to the most recent SpongeBob game.
A close look at the render shows Patrick and SpongeBob looking like they're being sucked into a whirlpool of some kind, which is a render we haven't seen for them before. The biggest oddity in the image is Sandy, who looks like she's wearing her Karate Island gear for the first time in a game, as well as looking like she's surfing on something. These renders don't seem to be related to any past SpongeBob game, making it likely that this is a tease for a brand new title instead.
THQ Nordic has also specifically teased SpongeBob in its Twitter announcement of the event. In a follow-up Tweet, it said, "Witness the return of legendary franchises and sequels to beloved games. We hope you are ready, kids".
The general belief at the moment is that Purple Lamp Studios, the team behind Battle For Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated, has been allowed to work on a brand new SpongeBob title after the success of that remaster.
