The minimum graphics settings should be a viable option for a number of gamers as they require only a first-generation Ryzen 3 or fourth-generation Haswell Core i5 processor. In addition, most gaming GPUs released over the past few years shouldn't have issues running the game. However, playing the game on lowest level settings isn't every gamer’s preferred option. Far Cry 6 includes many of the next-gen technologies that are becoming more prevalent in the industry such as DirectX Raytracing and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution. In order to experience these new features at playable frame rates, players are going to need a much more powerful computer.

Unfortunately, meeting these system requirements and playing games such as Far Cry 6 at high settings is easier said than done for some fans. It's still difficult to find new graphics cards on the market today, and Ubisoft recommends an AMD Radeon RX 6800 or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 to play the game at ultra settings. As consumers attempt to get the latest hardware for their gaming rigs, many suppliers continue to experience shortages in computer parts. According to the CEO of Intel Pat Gelsinger, chip shortages in the tech industry are likely to continue into 2023.

The upcoming release of Far Cry 6 serves to increase the hype for the last three months of 2021 in gaming. With a number of large developers preparing to launch some of their most popular titles, fans are in for an exciting end to the year. Besides Ubisoft's open-world first-person shooter, some popular games expected to release by the end of the year include Halo Infinite, Battlefield 2042, and Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Far Cry 6 releases on October 7 for Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
