FIFA 22: Alex Scott To Become The Series’ First English-Speaking Female Commentator

Alex Scott is joining the ever-growing list of ex-Arsenal players becoming FIFA commentators, confirming herself that she will be a commentator in FIFA 22.

Scott announced the news on her personal Twitter account earlier today, explaining that being included in FIFA 22 is a big moment for her "personally and professionally." She goes on to explain that her inclusion in FIFA 22 represents the "start of stronger female footballing representation" in the FIFA series and the football community.

Scott's inclusion in FIFA 22 means that the series finally has it's first English-speaking female commentator in its 29-year long history. As mentioned by VGC, Scott isn't the first ever female commentator as Gol Television presenter Nira Juanra was included in FIFA 21's Spanish commentary team. However, Scott's presence in FIFA 22 is still a big step towards more inclusion in the series.

Unfortunately for those hoping that Alex Scott being introduced means the removal of Derek Rae or Martin Tyler, you're going to be disappointed. Scott herself will provide players with goal updates from other matches rather than provide full commentary, similar to Alan McInally's role in current and past FIFA games.

Scott's commentary isn't the only addition to FIFA 22 as details have been emerging steadily about confirmed and rumored modes over the past few weeks. The most recent piece of news is that FIFA 22 will let players create their own clubs and compete with them in Career Mode. It's unknown as to how deep the customization is going to be, but the mode is expected to look something like Master League from the PES series.

FIFA 22 is also rumored to be getting an Online Career Mode, although what shape it will take is unknown. This rumor comes from a recent job listing that states EA is looking for an online software engineer to help with some form of "online career mode." Whatever the case may be, it's looking like FIFA 22 will include some dramatic changes.
