Final Fantasy 14 is slowly shedding away its gender-locked gear, and giving players more options to play gender non-conforming characters. The process is slow but very welcome to the community.

The MMORPG still has a ways to go, but there are certain outfits out there for players that want their male characters to wear a dress or female characters to wear a tuxedo. Some of these outfits were once gender locked, while others were unisex since the beginning. With each patch and expansion, fans are expecting even more unlocks and options.
10 The Bride Wedding Set
Known as the Eternal Devotion Set, the bride gown for the Ceremony of Eternal Bonding was once locked for only female characters. After a patch though, it could also be worn by male characters.
People were male characters were quite thankful, as the wedding dress is one of the most unique and beautiful pieces of gear in the game. However, it can only be bought on the Mogstation.
9 The 2B Outfit
The moment Shadowbringers introduced a gear set directly from Nier: Automata, fans clamored to get their 2B outfits. Luckily for the players, this dress set, tights, boots, gloves, and headpiece were never gender locked despite their feminine appearance.
While this gear can only be received from level 80 content, the set can be worn as a glamour at any level by any class.
8 Mheg Deaca Attire
Inspired by Il Mheg, the Kingdom of Rainbows, this Mogstation attire is also one that never was gender-locked despite its femininity. This could partly have to do with the lore of Il Mheg itself, as the King of the Fae tribes, Titana, used they/them pronouns in the game content.

The outfit can be worn at any level, is dyeable, and is certainly one of the most unique outfits a player can wear since it includes fairy wings.
7 The Groom Wedding Set
As the dress of the Eternal Bonding Ceremony was unlocked for male characters, the same was true with the tuxedo for female characters. The unlocking happened in the patch, "Echoes of a Fallen Star."
For players that want to exchange a dress for a tailcoat or tailcoat for a dress, they just need to speak with a Calamity salvager in one of the three city-states. For those that want the vestments to be dyeable, they will want the Garments of Passion or Devotion, not Innocence. However, no matter the kind they get, players can exchange their dress or tailcoat clothes for the opposite option.
6 Bunny Chief Set
The Gold Saucer is full of workers dressed in bunny outfits, complete with bows, tights, high-heels, and bunny ears. Once, this garb was gender-locked for only female characters to wear. However, that is a thing of the past.

Male characters can also wear any piece of this bunny-themed set as well. The set is bought with MGP in the Gold Saucer, not on the Mogstation or Market Board.
5 The Expeditioner Set
The expeditioner set had two versions: male and female. Now the two are interchangeable and can be worn by any character no matter their gender.
The outfits themselves are not as especially feminine or masculine compared to others, but they still have that history of being locked based on gender. These clothes are wearable by any class at any level.
4 High House Bustle
The high house bustle dress is a high-class piece of Ishgardian fashion. It comes with bows, buttons, ruffles, and all. It was gender-locked for just female characters in the past and was eventually available for male characters as well. The dress can make one really blend into a formal gothic landscape.

These can be bought on the Market Board or crafted by a level 60 or higher Weaver. They are also dyeable.
3 Choir Attire
The exclusive choir outfits from the game event, the Starlight Celebration, was never gender locked. Unlike many other event outfits though, they did not change appearance on different genders like the Rose Attire (which would give male characters pants and female characters dresses).
While it is not often a player sees another player wearing this outfit in the game outside of the Starlight Celebration, it certainly is one of the fairest unisex outfits to come from an event.
2 Best Man's Jacket
Outside of outfits from the Mogstation's Eternal Bonding Ceremony, there is a place in Ul'dah where players can buy best man jackets and bridesmaid dresses. These were once gender-locked, but are not anymore. Now wedding attendees can defy gender stereotypes along with the wedding participants.
The best man jacket is similar to the groom's outfit in the ceremony, except it does not have a flower pin, chain, and open coat.
1 Bridesmaid Dress
The bridesmaid dress, next to the bride gown, is one of the more feminine outfits in the game. It has bows, frills, and comes in default pink. Along with the best man's jacket, this dress also has been unlocked to male characters.
The dress can be bought in Ul'dah or crafted by a Weaver that is level 50. The Weaver will require 318 control and use some rare resources as well.
