Final Fantasy 7 is held in high regard in the gaming community and is often considered to be the fan-favorite of the series. It recently received a little extra bit of love from Square Enix with the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, leaving fans hotly anticipating the forthcoming release of the second half of the Remake story.

The game resonates with fans for many reasons, the story, the gameplay, and the world-building, to name just a few. Of course, the characters also captivate the hearts of many gamers and one such character is Reno. Fans often show their love for Reno in various ways, such as these awesome cosplays.

10 Reno The Lefty

Reno first appeared in Final Fantasy 7 for the original PlayStation and has appeared in every spin-off title, apart from Dirge of Cerberus, as well as the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children film.

This awesome cosplay by ShunsukeCosplay is an action-packed shot that shows Reno wielding his Electro-Mag Rod weapon. Despite being shown here and in official media artwork as holding his Elecro-Mag Rod in his right hand, Reno is actually left-handed and only holds it in his left hand during gameplay.

9 Tattoos

Reno has two red face tattoos, one underneath each eye. The limitations of the Playstation 1 meant that these tattoos weren’t visible on Reno’s original character model, but they did appear in the official artwork of the character by Tetsuya Nomura and have appeared on every iteration of Reno since the original game.

This awesome cosplay by Jannet-Sorekage provides a great close up of the character’s face where you can clearly see these tattoos displayed. This cosplayer is also wearing goggles on their forehead, one of Reno’s trademark items.

8 Yo

In the Japanese versions of the games and film, Reno has a distinct way of talking that wasn’t translated to the western versions; he frequently ends his sentences in “zo to”, “yo to”, or “to”, which is best translated as “yo”.

This awesome cosplay by jho gives us a great look at Reno’s punky hair and ponytail. Though Reno always has the same spiky hairdo, he doesn’t always sport a ponytail, as seen in Before Crisis and the beginning of Crisis Core.

7 Fan Favorite

Reno is undoubtedly a fan favorite when it comes to the Final Fantasy 7 community and as a result, he was the only minor character to have a Play Arts figure made of him prior to the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. With a surge in popularity in the fandom due to Remake, fans have since been given Rude as a Play Arts figure too, as well as a new version of Reno.

Cosplayer Rukinda has delighted fans with this gritty cosplay shoot of their favorite Turk, showing a darker, more mature moment for the usually fun-loving and energetic character.

6 Turk Life

Reno is one of the main members of the Turks, the unofficial name given to the Investigation Sector of the General Affairs Department, and he is often seen with his partner in arms, Rude. Despite their two characters having polar opposite personalities, they are actually the best of buds.

Cosplayer Rainer has brought Reno to life in this awesome photo, not only having found the perfect setting to replicate Midgar, but we can also see Rude in the background. This cosplay looks like an awesome shot from a live-action film based on Final Fantasy 7.

5 Second In Command

Although he can sometimes be perceived as a bit lazy, Reno is actually a hard worker and he does take pride in his work, this is especially evident when he becomes Second in command.

This rather awesome looking cosplay by Kuroshiba Cosplay gives off some very cool vibes and portrays Reno in his usual black suit and white shirt outfit. Interestingly, in the original game, the Turks wore blue suits but they were changed to black suits in the later games and the film.

4 Hot Gossip

Reno is a confident, excitable character, which is likely why fans fell in love with him, and one of his more adorable traits is that he loves to gossip. Reno’s upbeat personality contrasted with Rude’s more severe character results in them being a rather comical duo at times, usually serving as comic relief, especially in Advent Children.

Cosplayer chinoai has managed to perfectly capture Reno’s playful nature in this awesome cosplay and has recreated a fan-favorite expression of Reno with him sticking his tongue out.

3 Rebel

Despite usually having a very upbeat and fun-loving personality, Reno has a very rebellious side to his character and this is likely why his appearance is stereotypical of a Japanese delinquent, sporting a punky hairstyle and refusing to wear a tie or tuck in his shirt.

This cosplay by Akitozz6 presents fans with a recreation of Reno of Final Fantasy: Advent Children, making it look as though Reno has stepped right out the screen. This image gives off plenty of delinquent/thug vibes that are balanced perfectly with an air of “cool”.

2 No More Mr. Nice Guy

Reno definitely has a sadistic streak to his character and this can be seen in some of the things that he does. He is also very skilled in battle, despite his more casual appearance. Interestingly, his character portrayal in Remake mixed his previous iterations from the original game and his more developed character from Advent Children.

This amazing cosplay by masa9ne_tq gives fans a fantastic action shot of Reno. The lighting used gives a fiery feel to the image, which is contrasted by the use of water and altogether gives a phenomenal image.

1 Suited And Booted

Though Reno’s default outfit is always a suit, his costume has still undergone some subtle changes over the years. In his most recent incarnation in Remake, he receives fingerless black gloves and his suit gets a strap tie across his chest, as seen in this cosplay.

Cosplayer moderatelyokaycosplay is more than a little modest as this cosplay of Reno is definitely more than okay, it’s absolutely fantastic and arguably one of the most perfect Reno cosplays out there.
