Fire Emblem Heroes recently released several more alternate skins for existing characters, all in the theme of pirate ruffians. This is a repeat of the last pirate ruffian event starring the special duo unit Xander and Veronica. Similar to Darros of the last event, tempest trials will be following the event allowing players to receive a pirate ruffian character for achieving a specific amount of points in the event. Fire Emblem Heroes like many modern mobile games suffers from a concept known as "power creep". As the community looks forward to each new event, the skills released can receive a wide variety of feedback.
Upwards of every two weeks, Fire Emblem Heroes holds limited-time events in which new skins or new characters, are released into the game. Fire Emblem Heroes is a mobile game based on the original franchise of Fire Emblem and plays extremely similarly. These events provide the Fire Emblem community additional content for their favorite characters and have ranged from simple picnic skins to Fire Emblem style ninjas.

With each coming event, Fire Emblem Heroes releases new skills that out-perform older ones. The most recent Perilous Seas event is no exception, with the Sea's Shadow Naesala entering the game with Attack/Speed Solo 4 and The Pirate of the Red Sky Surtr equipped with Defense/Resistance Ideal 4. Currently, the only way to obtain a skill of level 4 is to draw its corresponding owner at 5 star rarity, making these skills quite difficult to obtain for most players. Due to the scarcity of these abilities and the continued release of legendary units such as Legendary Hero Sigurd the Fated Holy Knight, these new units pack quite a punch.
Power creep can be a difficult concept to handle in mobile games, and these new units adding such rare but devastating abilities to the game could be adding fuel to the fire. On one hand, it adds incredibly unique ways to spice up the game for long-term players as well as provide the community even more content about their characters. On the other though, it can make it difficult for free-to-play players to keep up with the meta, and may drive away beginner players who wish to still use the original character of Fire Emblem Heroes Alphonse.
Fire Emblem Heroes has been following this same style of events since its release and fortunately is yet to see a massive drop in player count. The game has also provided opportunities for players to vote on upcoming characters to be added to the game through its Fire Emblem Choose your Legends events outside the game. Newer and older players of the game should be on the lookout for these new heroes and should save some orbs to draw for them if they haven't already.
