Free Guy is not only hitting theaters this week, but it's also coming to Fortnite in the form of a new skin and related emote.
Free Guy hits theaters later this week and adds an entirely new spin on the video game movie genre. Free Guy isn't based on a game that already exists like Sonic the Hedgehog or Mortal Kombat. It takes place in a game that doesn't exist, Free City, and its main character is an NPC called Guy.
Even though Free City isn't a real game, that hasn't stopped Guy from showing up in others that do exist outside of the movie. First via some very cool movie posters, and now through the addition of some upcoming cosmetics to Fortnite. A Free Guy skin and emote has been leaked ahead of time and will reportedly be added to the Fortnite store later today.

You can check out the skin above. A rather buff-looking Ryan Reynolds complete with an emote of the character performing a spin and accompanying double thumbs up. The skin is actually based on Dude rather than Guy, an upgraded version of the main character who is sent into the game to stop him. It's unclear whether the skin and the emote will be the only Free Guy items added to Fortnite or if there's more to come.
Dude will join what has become countless other character from various franchises when he is added later today. Gamora is one of the latest to get in on the fun, further expanding Fortnite's Marvel roster which already includes the likes of Thor, Iron Man, and Black Widow. There was also reason to believe Among Us would be getting its very own crossover, rumors the game's creators have reacted to and denied.
Free Guy hits theaters this Friday. Unlike other recent releases, it will not get a simultaneous streaming service launch. Keep an eye on Fortnite's social channel and the in-game store for the official arrival of the crossover items which should arrive before the end of the day.
