Fortnite Now Has Ferraris

Fortnite remains as unpredictable as ever when it comes to who or what it will cross over with next. This time it has added Ferraris to its ever-expanding universe.

Fortnite is the undisputed king of the crossover and has probably reached a point where it always will be. Fall Guys isn't going to be having its very own Marvel season anytime soon, although it will add Ratchet & Clank costumes starting next week. As for Fortnite, everyone from Batman to LeBron James is now a part of the game.

Fortnite's crossovers don't always have to usher in a someone. Sometimes it can be a something, as has been the case today. Fortnite got its first officially licensed vehicle. The Ferrari 296 GTB, the arrival of which Epic first teased on Wednesday by tweeting a screenshot of the Ferrari badge in-game. Look closely and you can see the Battle Bus reflected in it.

Epic has now confirmed the car's arrival, along with some Ferrari-themed cosmetics, via a new blog post. Players will be able to find the 296 GTB on the island and will need it to complete certain Ferrari-centered challenges. Complete a time trial, hit the Ferrari's top speed, and drive it through the storm. The car can be found in-game right now, and the items can be bought in the item shop.

For Ferrari fans, this is the closest you'll get to driving the real thing, at least in 2021. The Ferrari 296 GTB isn't currently on the market, but you can visit Ferrari's website and mess with its color and add-ons to see what it might look like when you can eventually drive one home.

Season seven has cooled it a little when it comes to crossovers. Season five was so crossover-heavy that some players were becoming numb to just how special some of the collaborations were, and season six wasn't much better. They haven't dried up altogether, as rumors that Ariana Grande will be added to the game and get her very own virtual concert continue to swirl.
