Fortnite Player Finds Interesting Way to Fast Travel Across the Map

Fortnite has a multitude of tools for players to efficiently travel around the map. From a variety of drivable vehicles, to mobility items like Peppers and Inflate-A-Bulls, to things like ziplines, Guardian Tower launchers, and more, there are a variety of ways to cover great distances on the island. However, one Fortnite player is going viral for their newly discovered method to fast travel across the map.

Epic Games' ever-popular battle royale title is currently in the second half of its seventh season. While the current season has primarily been centered around a sci-fi alien invasion, Fortnite surprised its fanbase by recently adding a real-life supercar, the Ferrari 296 GTB. The Ferrari is the fastest land vehicle in the game, but apparently has excellent airborne abilities as well.

The new method of fast travel comes from popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber Nick Eh 30. In a clip posted to his official Twitter yesterday, the streamer can be seen driving the new 296 GTB. Lining up to a three-high wood ramp, Nick Eh 30 then hits a controlled boost at about the last build. A moment after, he holds it down, angling the Ferrari nose-up in a maneuver straight out of Rocket League. The car covers an incredible distance, flying all the way from south of Believer Beach before crashing into Pristine Point, just west of Steamy Stacks.

The clip appears to be a culmination of several attempts to pull off the idea, with the streamer exclaiming "I got it, I got it!" when successfully flying the Ferrari. It isn't the first time a player has fast traveled using a vehicle in an unorthodox way though, just probably none this effective. During the previous Fortnite season, a pair of players discovered a way to fast travel using boats. The duo would get a boat on dry land, and then throw a Shockwave Grenade just behind the stern, sending it flying hundreds of meters.

While the method does work, the boat doesn't seem to go as far as Nick Eh 30's idea, and the fact that Shockwave Grenades have been vaulted renders the Ferrari as the only currently feasible fast travel vehicle. However, there is still one other way for Fortnite players to fast travel. Players who manage to track down and grab a chicken can head over to the nearest Guardian Tower and use the launcher to cover some serious ground.

Although it doesn't look the easiest to pull off, the unique way of using the 296 GTB's boosting ability looks like a fun technique to use, especially for Rocket League players. Things should get really interesting for traveling, flying Ferrari or not, in the near future, as a leak suggests the fan-favorite Rift Zones are making their return.

Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
