Is this a new way of promotion or the product of rising to stardom? Xbox just released its debut track for Xbox Game Pass, something nobody asked for, but at least it’s good for a joke. And it has the lyrics in the video karaoke-style, so you can sing alone! I mean along!
“All on Game Pass” has this 80s pop-ballad sound to it. We have sounds of synthesizers, electronic drums, and hallmark 80s sounds. The background video also shows a bunch of lyric-related stock footage and footage from Game Pass games, like Halo Infinite and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Toward the end it gets pretty silly. There comes a point where a ton of Xbox exclusives just get name-dropped, which sounds overkill, but it is kind of a testament to the library of games that players have access to on Game Pass.
The songs itself may not be this Summer’s banger, but seeing all these titles that are going to be coming out on day one is pretty exciting. It also wouldn’t be a proper 80s song without an obligatory fade-out at the end.
What’s the takeaway? Xbox should stick to making games, because they are bad at music, but damn good at games, and pretty good at marketing humor. What they forgot to mention is all the bonus perks of Game Pass that aren’t the actual games. You can get Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
