Game Will Have A Fresh Batch Of PS5s On Sale This Morning

Game has revealed it will have more PS5s for sale this morning but hasn't given a specific time for when the stock will drop.

Nine months on from the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and all three consoles remain hard to come by wherever you are in the world. Despite that, both PlayStation and Xbox have reported their respective consoles are the fastest-selling in history. More than 10 million people already own a PS5, which must be hard to believe for those who still don't have one.

If that sounds like you and you live in the UK, today could be your lucky day. Game has revealed it has a fresh batch of PS5s and that the new stock will go on sale at some point this morning. Game's last shipment of next-gen consoles went on sale at 10 am, so it seems likely the same will be the case today.

Game utilizes an online queuing system so it is very much first come, first served. When those PS5s are gone, then they're gone. Not announcing a time beforehand prevents everyone from showing up at the same time, but it also likely means some people have been refreshing Game's PS5 page since about 1 am. Fellow UK retailer Argos has a habit of dropping its own new PS5 stock at 3 am after all.

Even if you don't manage to snag a PS5 from Game today, don't be disheartened. While it might not feel like it, PS5s will become easier to find with each passing month and each passing shipment of stock. Whoever does manage to buy a PS5 today will be out of the race for future arrivals. Barring scalpers, of course. One young scalper claims to have made $1.7 million reselling consoles and Pokemon cards since last year.

Other than scalpers, the ongoing shortages have been caused by a worldwide lack of semiconductors and the pandemic resulting in transporting the consoles pretty tricky. Plus, above all else, more people wanting consoles than ever before. People turned to gaming last year while they were stuck inside with nothing to do, something that has been reflected in the want for not only brand new consoles but also the Nintendo Switch and even PS4s.
