Gamescom 2021 Award Nominees List Includes Elden Ring

The nominees for the Gamescom Awards 2021 have been revealed. The categories consist of best games across various platforms and genres, as well as best announcements and trailers. Additionally, the awards will also felicitate some of the industry’s biggest streamers, institutions, and companies via the Heart of Gaming award. The ceremony will be part of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live on Wednesday, August 25.

While Sony will not be a part of Gamecom 2021, we’ve got confirmations by Xbox, Actisivion, EA, Bethesda, Konami, Mediatonic, and a number of other developers. In terms of games, we can expect to see martial arts combat game Sifu, a Dying Light 2 showcase featuring the parkour mechanics, a world premiere of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, a look at Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and what appears to be a Saints Row reboot.

Featured among the nominees is From Software’s Elden Ring, which will probably be one of the most anticipated games of the event. The fact that it features in the list means we might get a look at some gameplay.
