The people of Mondstadt have spoken. Klee is the best fighter they have, partly because the Anemo Archon has mostly been put out of commission thanks to his undying love for liquor and La Signora's Gnosis theft, but still. Whether that statement about Klee is an in-game joke or not, she's no doubt one of the most powerful characters in Genshin Impact.

Her style is also unconventional. Unlike other characters who get carried by their abilities, most of Klee's strengths lie in her normal and charged attacks. Upgrading those first ensures an optimal Klee. That, and also giving Klee her best books or Catalysts can reinforce the fact (or the legend) that Klee is Mondstadt's best. We rate her Catalysts in ascending order.
Mappa Mare
- Max Base ATK: 565
- Secondary Stat: Elemental Mastery 110
You've probably seen Mappa Mare already. As far as four-star weapons go, it's not exactly elusive in the wish banners. That's good news for Klee because It's a good weapon on her. Mappa Mare's high base attack coupled with the Elemental Mastery second stat is ideal for a pyro character like Klee who relies on elemental reactions like Vaporize or Melt to deal the most damage.
To bolster this damage even further, the Mappa Mare's passive ability also gives more Elemental Damage Bonus for Klee – as much as 16 percent. The only caveat with that is that it's a little counter-intuitive since Klee needs to trigger an elemental reaction to get that bonus, meaning her first or second Melt or Vaporize reaction will be weaker.
Eye Of Perception
- Max Base ATK: 454
- Secondary Stat: ATK 55.4%
You might be wondering how the Eye of Perception is marginally better than Mappa Mare. That's due to the enormous ATK boost granted by the secondary stat. This offsets the rather low base ATK. However, do note that you might need additional flat ATK on Klee's artifacts to take better advantage of the secondary stat.

Further capitalizing on Eye of Perception's secondary stat is its passive ability. Each normal or charged attack has a 50 percent chance to fire a Bolt of Perception. This deals 240 percent of ATK as physical damage. It's also great against multiple enemies as it can bounce.
Solar Pearl
- Max Base ATK: 510
- Secondary Stat: CRIT Rate 27.6%
You can only obtain the Solar Pearl from the premium version of the Battle Pass so its not an option for free players or those who want to minimize their expenditures on Genshin Impact. Still, it's one of the best four-star Catalysts for Klee.
The Crit secondary stat is always useful for her. Meanwhile, the passive ability synergizes well with Klee's combos where she peppers the enemies switch normal and charged attacks after unloading her Skill and Burst at the enemies' faces.
Royal Grimoire
- Max Base ATK: 565
- Secondary Stat: ATK 27.6%
The Royal Grimoire gives a little bit of everything to Klee. The base ATK is actually one of the highest among her four-star weapons. The secondary stat isn't that impressive but it's enough to give some reliably high normal and charged attack numbers for Klee.

As for the passive ability, it gives Klee some Crit Rate which increases every time she doesn't do Crit damage. This increased Crit Rate unfortunately disappears once the Crit damage is achieved so at best, it's an erratic damage bonus.
Blackcliff Agate
- Max Base ATK: 510
- Secondary Stat: CRIT DMG 55.1%
While Crit Rate is a mouth-watering stat for DPS characters, it still gets trumped by Crit Dmg. That's why Blackcliff Agate is sometimes preferred over Solar Pearl. The Crit Dmg bonus is just tough to beat. It also helps that the weapon is more friendly to free players even though it requires 24 Masterless Starglitters.
One thing to note about the Blackcliff Agate, and also other Blackcliff weapons is that their passive ability is often unusable in boss fights. It requires you to kill an enemy before you can reap the benefits of the passive.
Dodoco Tales
- Max Base ATK: 454
- Secondary Stat: ATK 55.1%
It's not a Crit weapon but Dodoco Tales is even better, especially for a character like Klee. Not only does it share the same color theme and style as her clothes but it complements her playstyle well. The stats are identical to the Eye of Perception so flat ATK bonuses are welcome here.

Where it does suit Klee the most, apart from the style, is the passive ability. Any normal attack you make with Dodoco Tales buffs up the charged attack for a certain duration. Then, any charged attack also buffs up the normal attacks. It's also easy to turn into an R5 weapon.
The Widsith
- Max Base ATK: 510
- Secondary Stat: CRIT DMG 55.1%
Too bad Dodoco Tales tends to get overshadowed by The Widsith. It's also one of the best four-star weapons for her and at times, and depending on the passive bonus you get, The Widsith can deal higher damage. That Crit Dmg secondary stat is also too valuable to give up for another four-star option.
When it comes to passive abilities, the Widsith is quite a wildcard. Klee randomly receives any of these three bonuses whenever she takes the field:
- Recitative: ATK is increased by 60~120%.
- Aria: Increases all Elemental DMG by 48~96%.
- Interlude: Elemental Mastery is increased by 240~480.
Regardless of which she gets among those, Klee will be nigh unstoppable.
Skyward Atlas
- Max Base ATK: 674
- Secondary Stat: ATK 33.1%
As usual, the five-star weapons make the four-star ones pale in comparison. Such is the case with most character's weapons, and Klee is no exception. Even the Skyward Atlas beats all of Klee's four-star options when it comes to maximum damage output. That impressive base attack is the highest out of all catalysts. To make it more outrageous, it gets even more attack in the secondary stat.

If that's not enough, then Skyward Atlas' passive grants Elemental Damage Bonus and a chance to get attack clouds that will damage the enemies based on Klee's ATK. It all adds up and makes the weapon competitive enough for the top spots.
Memory Of Dust
- Max Base ATK: 608
- Secondary Stat: ATK 49.6%
Memory of Dust is a rare weapon due to the limited banner run but if you get it, then Klee will be a happy kiddo indeed. Memory of Dust grants ATK after ATK in terms of bonuses, up to the point where it surpasses Skyward Atlas even if the latter's base ATK is higher.
If you give Klee Zhongli as a party partner, thus granting her a permanent shield, the total ATK bonus (including the secondary stat) from Memory of Dust goes up to nearly 100 percent. Now all you have to worry about is giving Klee the appropriate Crit Rate and Crit Dmg numbers.
Lost Prayer To The Sacred Winds
- Max Base ATK: 608
- Secondary Stat: CRIT Rate 33.1%
Finally, we have the best weapon for Klee, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. It gives out significant amounts of Crit Rate and the base ATK is high enough for Klee to not worry about ATK rolls on her artifacts. The initial passive ability effect grants increased movement speed which is alright for Klee since her legs are short but really game-changing.
Where it can exceed the other five-star options in terms of damage is with the Elemental Damage Bonus which gains stacks every four seconds. This adds up to a total of 32 percent at R1. For a Catalyst user, that's enough to make their normal and charged attacks devastating, as long as they stay on the battlefield.
