Genshin Impact Gameplay Video Shows Yoimiya in Action | Game Rant

Genshin Impact has seen a plethora of new content added through the game's recent 2.0 update. Alongside the addition of the long-awaited Japan-based island nation of Inazuma, the new region's story featured several new characters set to join the title's roster of nearly 40 characters. With the update entering its second half, miHoYo has released numerous trailers revealing the newest playable character to be added to the RPG.

Following the conclusion of fan-favorite Kamisato Ayaka's banner, Genshin Impact will officially release Naganohara Yoimiya, a Pyro-element character who fights with a bow. Yoimiya featured prominently within the first act of Inazuma's story with players even getting to demo the feisty archer early through the character's story quest. Now, with Yoimiya's banner to release on August 10th, miHoYo has released a new trailer to show off her gameplay to eager fans.

The newest of Genshin Impact's flashy gameplay trailers opens with Yoimiya in a variety of different situations similar to her story quest, featuring the character constantly helping others before debuting her gameplay. Moving into the gameplay portion, the trailer shows off Yoimiya's Elemental Skill, which alters her normal attacks, giving them Pyro damage. Using Yoimiya's Aimed Shot will allow Yoimiya to shoot three firework-like arrows that pop into a colorful explosion when they hit an enemy. The final gameplay portion of the trailer shows off her Elemental Burst, which deals Pyro damage in a small area.

The trailer concludes with a teaser of another new character who will be joining Yoimiya on her release banner, the pint-sized ninja Sayu. Sayu and Yoimiya were revealed together alongside other characters from Inazuma in early June in an effort to combat the growing Genshin Impact leaker community. Sayu's appearance in the trailer shows off the other effect of Yoimiya's Elemental Burst, applying a mark that other characters can pop for extra damage.

Genshin Impact's trailers heralding in the game's newest characters have become a tradition for the growing RPG. The trailers have evolved from simple gameplay demos in the game's early days to elaborately-animated story-driven trailers. Videos like Yoimiya's and Eula's trailer from the 1.5 update create a blend of demonstrating a character's gameplay while also allowing their personality to dictate the pace. With a roster of characters that is constantly growing and more of the Inazuma region planned to be added in future updates, Genshin Impact looks set to continue to deliver new experiences to its fans for a long time to come.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Android, and iOS with a Switch version in development.
