Genshin Impact: The Best Builds For Yoimiya | Game Rant

Naganohara Yoimiya is a 5-star Pyro archer available in Genshin Impact 2.0. She is the daughter of the Naganohara family, which are known for their fireworks. It is said that the Naganohara can make fireworks the exact same way as they previously did, as long as the customer keeps the order slip.

Yoimiya believes that fireworks can bring back memories, so they can be used to relive those moments. Because of her love for fireworks, Genshin Impact players will notice that Yoimiya's combat skills are heavily influenced by it. Being born in a firework business also makes her a talented pyrotechnician. So, it only makes sense that her vision is Pyro.

Yoimiya is a bow user that can infuse her arrow with Pyro. Her normal attack is a 5-hit sequence with the highest multiplier among other bow characters.

However, Yoimiya's charge attack has the same multiplier as the other bow characters. This is probably why she has a little tweak in her charge attack. Yoimiya generates kindling arrows when charging her attack to level two. She can have up to three Kindling Arrows and they will deal damage along with her charge attack. While this may seem very neat, it should also be noted that Yoimiya can't produce Kindling Arrows when her Elemental skill is active.

Her Elemental skill, Niwabi Fire-Dance allows Yoimiya to deal Pyro damage on her normal attack. This is the main source of her damage. However, this skill has a long cooldown. The Queen of the Summer Festival will enjoy 10 seconds of Pyro infusion before she has to wait 8 seconds for the skill to be available again. In this duration, Yoimiya is better switched out because Physical attacks are not her primary focus.

As for Yoimiya's Elemental burst, she marks an enemy with Aurous Blaze. This mark will deal damage if an ally deals damage to the enemy, so Yoimiya can't trigger this skill on her own.

However, it's worth remembering that Yoimiya can be active as long as an ally damages the enemy. For example, if Fischl's "Oz" hits an enemy with the mark while Yoimiya is active, then Aurous Blaze will trigger normally. Therefore, Yoimiya doesn't have to be completely swapped out for her Elemental burst to work.

Yoimiya has different best artifacts based on her role. She technically can be used as a burst damage dealer, but this may not be her best role. Instead, Yoimiya is better used as a normal attack damage dealer. For the main DPS role, her artifact mainstat should be Attack/Pyro/Critical Rate or Critical Damage. These are the best artifact choices for Yoimiya:

  • 2-set: ATK +18%.
  • 4-set: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s.

Yoimiya's main source of damage is her normal attack. 4-Shimenawa's Reminiscence boosts her damage by 50%, so it's the best option for Yoimiya.

Yoimiya does not need her energy because her Elemental burst can be ignored. So using this artifact set is an amazing choice even though it means that Yoimiya will rarely use her Elemental burst.

  • 2-set: Increases Shield Strength by 35%.
  • 4-set: While protected by a shield, gain an additional 40% Normal and Charged Attack DMG.

4-Retracing Bolide is an underrated set that actually works on almost everyone. However, it comes at a huge price. The active character needs to be protected by a shield for the 4-set effect to work.

This is why players should not use 4-Retracing Bolide unless they have Zhongli with their Yoimiya. If they do, then 4-Retracing Bolide is one of the best choices for Yoimiya. It will give her a damage boost and also increase her survivability.

  • 2-set: Pyro RES increased by 40%.
  • 4-set: Increases DMG against opponents affected by Pyro by 35%.

Yoimiya is not the best at creating Elemental reactions. Her attacks are too fast, so creating Elemental reactions will be blocked by internal cooldowns. This is why playing Yoimiya with 4-Lavawalker it's not at all a bad idea. It will work in a mono-comp where players use Anemo or Geo characters along with Yoimiya.

  • 2-set: Pyro DMG Bonus +15%.
  • 4-set: Increases Overloaded and Burning DMG by 40%. Increases Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%. Using an Elemental Skill increases the 2-Piece Set Bonus by 50% of its starting value for 10s. Max 3 stacks.

Yoimiya may not be able to effectively benefit from the 4-set bonus because of her long skill cooldown, but this artifact set is still generally great for Pyro characters. 4-Crimson Witch of Flames will allow Yoimiya to deal higher Elemental reaction damage even though it is not her forte.

Yoimiya has quite a lot of options for her weapons. Some of the weapons are also obtainable for free, so F2P players can rejoice. Yoimiya has a Critical Rate bonus off her Ascension, so weapons that boost her Critical further are a great choice for Yoimiya.

Thundering Pulse is the weapon that will be available in the weapon banner alongside Yoimiya. Usually, the weapons that are featured with the characters are the best weapon for them. This is no different for Yoimiya.

Thundering Pulse will perfectly complement Yoimiya if she uses 4-Shimenawa's Reminiscence. The 3-stack effect of this weapon requires Yoimiya to not have 100% energy. With 4-Shimenawa's Reminiscence, this is trivial because the 4-set effect of the artifact will continuously take Yoimiya's energy.

Amos' Bow and Skyward Harp are weapons that have been available ever since the release of Genshin Impact. Both of these weapons are a great choice for Yoimiya. Their high base attack allows Yoimiya to deal higher damage.

Rust is one of the best 4-star weapons for Yoimiya. This weapon will boost her normal attack damage by 40%. Although it will reduce her charge attack damage by 10%, it is not very important to consider because Yoimiya will not be utilizing her charge attack too much.

Both Blackcliff Warbow and Prototype Crescent will increase Yoimiya's attack if she fulfills certain conditions. Blackcliff Warbow is better when fighting smaller enemies because the passive requires Yoimiya to kill the enemy to gain a stack. At full-stack (3-stacks), she will gain 36% ATK.

Prototype Crescent is good if Yoimiya is fighting enemies with a weak spot. After hitting the enemy's weak spot, Yoimiya increases her Movement SPD by 10% and ATK by 36%.

The Viridescent Hunt is not F2P friendly. Players can only obtain this weapon via the Battle Pass. Just like other Battle Pass weapons, Viridescent Hunt has a Critical Rate substat. This alone will be a huge help for players when building their Yoimiya.
