While the recently released LG BX and CX OLEDs are our top 4K TVs for gaming in HDR, we still highly rate the 2019 models, the B9 and C9. These TVs use the same OLED panel, are G-Sync Compatible for PC gaming and they even include four HDMI 2.1 ports, making them perfect for next-gen gaming on the PS5 or Xbox Series X. Oh, and the B9 and C9 are normally hundreds of pounds cheaper than the 2020 models too!
Today the LG B9 OLED is even better value than usual, as the massive 65-inch model has been reduced to £1424, less than half of its original price of £3000. That’s a phenomenal price on a big OLED that will work well with the next-gen consoles and next-gen PC graphics hardware, all of which are set to support 4K 120Hz HDR output using a single HDMI 2.1 cable.
For comparison, the same model is £1800 on Amazon, while the new BX model is being sold for around £2000. To get the discounted price on the 65-inch B9 OLED, you’ll need to use code JUL20 at the checkout.
The deal is the best we’ve ever seen on an OLED of this size, especially as it comes with a five-year warranty, and Power Direct is a well-known electronics retailer (if not quite a household name!). With the BX and CX becoming more widely available in the UK, expect stocks of the B9 and C9 to dwindle fairly rapidly over the next few months – so we’d advise jumping on this deal if it’s within your budget.
So what exactly are the differences between the B9 and C9 and the BX and CX? The main features you’re getting with the BX and CX are faster processors, a better black frame insertion (BFI) feature that works at 120Hz and improved built-in speakers – nice upgrades, but not ones that are likely to make a massive difference to your viewing experience. And with the 55-inch BX costing more than this 65-inch B9, the older model offers substantially better value. I actually purchased the 55-inch B9 at Black Friday for £999, and the only regret I’ve had with it so far is not picking up the bigger size!
