The promotions for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are in full swing, with less than a month to go before the anticipated film hits theaters. Amid all the promotional content, Marvel Studios has also released a new featurette that offers fans a chance to get to know some of the main characters in the film and the actors who portray them.
In a fun game of who is “most likely to,” Simu Liu, Awkwafina, and Meng'er Zhang (who portray the roles of Shang-Chi, Katy, and Xialing, respectively) answer questions about who is most likely to get in a fight, survive a zombie apocalypse, or fall for a phone scammer. The actors answer most of the questions in character, with Awkwafina getting carried away at one point.

Among the three actors, it seems like Zhang is the one most likely to get into a fight. Her character in the film seems like a “badass,” in Katy’s words, but the fun banter between the actors reveals that Zhang would be the one fighting her way to victory if the need arises. Shang-Chi, on the other hand, would joke his way out of a confrontation. The trailers for Shang-Chi have already revealed that the titular hero changes his name to get away from his “destiny” and overlord father, which could be an indication of him avoiding an impending confrontation.
Awkwafina is seen joking about how both Shang-Chi and Xialing would be able to survive a zombie apocalypse because they have “superhuman genetics.” At this point, the Marvel featurette offers some sneak peeks of the various action sequences that the two characters will be a part of. In previous interviews, Liu has revealed that Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings will have some of the best action sequences in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings featurette is filled with footage from the upcoming film, with some never-before-seen scenes as well, including one of Awkwafina’s Katy using a bow and arrow. The look is the one featured in Katy’s character poster, which was also released by Marvel along with the featurette. Apart from Katy, Marvel also released posters for Shang-Chi, Ying Nan, Wenwu, Xialing, and Death Dealer.
The hype for the first Asian superhero-led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is quite high and it remains to be seen if Shang-Chi will live up to fan expectations. However, the new featurette certainly indicates the characters will be welcomed additions to the MCU.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will premiere in theaters on September 3, 2021.
