Iki Island has a surprisingly compelling story to tell in Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, although its finest moments are sadly hidden amidst a selection of collectibles.

Jin Sakai reminisces about his late mother while jamming away on his flute at Animal Sanctuaries, while the trauma experienced alongside his father are found in a selection of memories spread throughout the expansion. These act as flashbacks, transporting us back into the past with a handful of brief playable sequences as opposed to cutscenes.

These are all worth seeking out, and I’d argue they are essential to Jin Sakai’s character arc if you’re an eager completionist hoping to milk Ghost of Tsushima for all of its narrative worth. However, they’re spread throughout the island, so we’ve compiled a helpful guide to make seeking them out a breeze.

All Iki Island Memory Locations – Memory of Sorrow

The Memory of Sorrow can be found atop Thunderhead Cliffs close to the cave exit used in the Saragumi Armour Quest. If you’re a keen explorer, you’ll likely come across it naturally upon finishing the aforementioned mission and defeating all of the bandits that ambush you.

All Iki Island Memory Locations – Memory of Kinship

The Memory of Kinship is located at Senjo Gorge in a forest filled with gorgeous purple flowers. The flag you need to interact with is located on a solitary cliff you will need to swing and jump to in order to gain access.

All Iki Island Memory Locations – Memory of Foreboding

The Memory Of Foreboding can be found on the shore of Barrier Cove amidst a collection of sharp bones and shallow water – the flag’s dark colours should stand out pretty well alongside the luscious scenery.

All Iki Island Memory Locations – Memory of Anguish

The Memory of Anguish can be found just above the Kidafure Battleground in the north-eastern part of the island. These result in experience points and cutscenes that provide a glimpse into Jin Sakai’s past.

All Iki Island Memory Locations – Memory of Unfinished Song

This final memory will unlock after completing all of the others, and is more extensive than the four previous ones. Acting as a final farewell to his father, Jin will have to play a song on his flute after experiencing the memory and coming to terms with his grief. You’ll also earn a new sword skin for your troubles.

As for the location, Memory of Unfinished Song can be found to the left of Sly Hunter’s Forest and just before the coast and sea that leads to Raider’s Promontory.
