Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut added quite a few new features to the base game but also a few bugs. In response, the game's developer, Sucker Punch, has been steadily releasing patches to clear up its problems and touch up minor issues. For instance, Ghost of Tsushima's recent 2.07 patch cleared up bugs that caused things like the Fundoshi armor to go missing and for players to miss out on completed mission rewards.
However, the game still has other issues it's contending with, so despite Ghost of Tsushima patch 2.07 releasing only a few days ago, Sucker Punch has already followed it up with the 2.08 update. However, like previous updates, patch 2.08 doesn't make any drastic changes to the game, but it does seem to be preparing both the standalone version and full game version of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends for a new content update happening tomorrow, September 3.

Ghost of Tsushima update 2.08 specifically updates these four things:
- Improves the load time for viewing cosmetics in menus on PS5
- Restores color button prompts
- Various Legends adjustments
- Additional bug fixes
Again, small update. Most of the fixed bugs didn't even warrant specification. And while it's nice to know that the load times for cosmetics have been bolstered to match with Ghost of Tsushima's famous loading times, the most interesting thing about the 2.08 patch is its note on "various Legends adjustments."
As mentioned, Sucker Punch plans to release yet another Ghost of Tsushima patch tomorrow; only this one will significantly impact the state of the game, specifically Legends. The new update, presumably Ghost of Tsushima 2.09, will introduce the new Rivals Mode and Gear Expansion system into Legends that Sucker Punch has been teasing. Rivals Mode will pit teams of two against each other: Whoever defeats the most waves of enemies wins.
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends' new Gear Mastery System is a bit more complex. It will allow players to level up their gear from 110 to 120 by overcoming Mastery Challenges. As they accomplish Mastery Challenges, players will obtain new abilities and techniques for each of their classes. That, and raising a gear's Ki level to 120 will also give it a new perk slot for players to take advantage of. Simply put, Ghost of Tsushima's 2.08 update may be small, but it's setting the stage for players to experience something much bigger.
Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut is available now on PS4 and PS5.
