The Iki Island expansion that comes with the re-release feels like an extension of the original game, giving you all you'd expect from the open-world adventure on a new, smaller map. One of the trophies on this map, Monkey See, is a little obtuse with its meaning and execution. This guide will clear up exactly what you need to do.

Where To Do The Monkey See Achievement

The description of Monkey See simply tells you to embody the spirit of the monkey. You ultimately have to go to the Monkey Sanctuary, and find three monkey statues hidden on the mountain.

Then, do something in front of each of them before reaching the top. Before getting into that, you have to find the Monkey Sanctuary. It is located on the south west corner of the map on Saruiwa.

Where To Find The Three Monkeys On Iki Island

The statues are found by climbing in the monkey sanctuary area. Here are the exact locations:

The First Monkey

Once you reach the sanctuary, start climbing it (the entrance is marked by the two monkey statues). Climb some rocks and then you find a fork where one path takes you through some rocks and the other has you ascending the mountain starting with a grappling hook.

Ascend the mountain using the grappling hook and climbing on some rock ledges. You eventually tightrope across a gap where the first monkey statue is waiting. It has its ears covered.

Play your flute here and a cutscene will activate.

The Second Monkey

Climb back down the mountain and go through the other path, squeezing through the rocks. After just a few short moments of running up the side of the mountain you will see ledges to the right you can climb on.

Jump and grab the ledge. It will crumble and you will grab onto another ledge below it. Keep descending and the monkey is at the bottom.

This statue has its eyes covered, indicating that you should throw down a smoke bomb.

The Third Monkey

Return to the main path and continue until you reach a bamboo bridge. Cross it and descend the mountain.

It is a long way down and a couple of the ways down might seem hidden. Once you get down far enough you have to look to your far left and swing from a branch. Eventually, you reach the water. Swim foward and look to your left and the monkey will be on a small rock.

This monkey has its mouth closed. Bow in front of it to activate it.

The Monkey Sanctuary

With these three statues found, you have already done the hard work. Now you just have to scale the mountain on the main path and reach the top.

At the top, go to the middle of the peak where the game will prompt you to press R2. You will play the song on your flute and then earn the trophy.
