That’s Cheaper Than a Footlong Sub
As we told you a few days ago, there is a huge PlayStation Store sale going on right now. The sale includes over 1,200 PS4 and PS5 games. This sale goes lasts until August so you still have plenty of time to snipe some of these deals.
Granted, a ton of games for sale are absolute trash. Okay, maybe not trash but incredibly niche. Regardless, out of those 1200 titles, a ton of them aren’t worth your time. However, these 5 AAA PS4 games are absolute gems. As a bonus, these games are playable on the PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility and they are all on sale for $5 or less.
These deals are a limited-time offer, so we recommend you act fast as we don’t know if these specific games will stay this low until mid-August.
Check out the games below:
Mad Max
When we reviewed Max Max we said: “Mad Max’ glorious vehicle combat and unrelenting upgrade system lends itself to a game you can easily soak 50 plus hours into. Like the movie, Mad Max is the perfect summertime romp and should surely whet your appetite before the true Road Warrior inspired game releases later this fall, Fallout 4.”

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor – Game of the Year Edition
Our review: “If you are passing over Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor because you are too occupied with loot caves or driving a McLaren P1 to a “Horizon Festival” you are missing out. With a brilliant blend of silky smooth yet brutal combat and some memorable stealth sequences, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor offers up some of the best open world combat we have seen in quite some time. It is not without some faults, and will frustrate many to the core, but in the end you are left with an excellent Lord of the Rings game that should please any “Mature” gamer.”

Friday the 13th: The Game
A snippet from our review: “Friday the 13th: Ultimate Slasher Edition is not perfect by any means, but it is a perfect representation of the movie series as a whole. By providing players thrills and tense moments any Nintendo Switch owning horror fan should enjoy it, even with some of its deficiencies. The additional DLC extras, offline mode and various goodies all add to the package, and developer Black Tower Studios’s effort is one that would make even Mrs. Voorhees proud.”
Price: $3.74
For Honor
Our reviewer said: “Microtransactions aside, For Honor is a special game. Ubisoft took a huge risk on an intellectual property that offered no guarantees on its financial return; that alone is worthy of applause. But get this, they actually pull it off. They somehow made a medieval fighting game that is intense, smart, rewarding, and demands something of its player. It asks for your patience, yet the glory you’ll receive in return is well worth the trade.”
Price: $4.49
Battlefield 1
Our review: “Battlefield 1 had a lot of hype behind it having one of the most liked trailers to ever hit YouTube and thankfully it mostly delivers on the promise of its early previews. With a great mix of trench and vehicular combat, an impressive and focused array of fun and archaic weapons, maps that dynamically change in natural ways, a fantastic new mode in ‘Operations’ and most surprising of all, an actually decent – if somewhat short – single player campaign, Battlefield 1 offers a fantastic package for shooter fans.”
