Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy PlayStation file sizes revealed

The remastered-ish Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition seems to rather larger than the original games, as expected. Twitter feed PlayStation Game Size has revealed the file sizes for the three games with comparisons against the PS2 version that was released for PS4.

Rockstar have announced that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will launch digitally on November 11th. If you want a disc version of the games then you are going to have to wait a little longer until December 6th.

You’re also in luck if you subscribe to either Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Now. Game Pass subscribers will be able to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition from day one on November 11th, while PlayStation Now subscribers will get to play Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition from December 7th. No idea why there’s a wait for that, but there we go.

The developer has also given us a little more detail on what exactly has been enhanced for these new versions of the games.

Three iconic cities, three epic stories. Play the genre-defining classics of the original Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas updated for a new generation, now with across-the-board enhancements including brilliant new lighting and environmental upgrades, with high-resolution textures, increased draw distances, Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting, and much more, bringing these beloved worlds to life with all new levels of detail.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will also launch on iOS and Android in the first half of 2022. All existing versions of the games are to be removed from store fronts in preparation for the launch.
