Voice actor Dave Jackson previously revealed he's working on a Grand Theft Auto project, but in a comment to TheGamer, he clarified that he's not quite sure if it's 5 or 6. He did, however, confirm that a trailer is on the way soon.
"I have to tell you, I am very in the dark about it all," Jackson tells us. I don't know if it is an episode of 5 or if they are working on 6. I don't even know any plot points for the story – it's pretty cloak and dagger, and I sort of like it that way."
"I don't even want to know [right now]," he says. "But there will be a new trailer released very soon." Jackson's comments follow an earlier Facebook post reported on by Tom Henderson via Twitter, where he shared that he would play police chief Captain McClane in "the new Grand Theft Auto."

Jackson's announcement doesn't confirm that GTA 6 casting has begun, and it's not an unusual practice for voice actors to be unaware of specific titles and projects they're working on. Regardless of what Jackson's role is for, it at least indicates Rockstar has something to debut in the near future. It's worth noting the developer also has plans to release an enhanced edition of GTA 5 in November, bringing big upgrades to the eight-year-old game.
In recent months, rumbling around the enigmatic GTA 6 seem to have increased. Rumors around the series' next big entry suggest it'll have a continually evolving map, but we may not be seeing it until 2025. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier also corroborated earlier leaks documented by Tom Henderson, noting that the information "matches up" with what he knew of the project.
