Gwent Saves A Witcher Fan From Being Stabbed

A Witcher fan was saved from a stabbing thanks to a Gwent pack that they had in their pocket.

As reported by GamingBible, Redditor AntonRauch shared a story on The Witcher subreddit about a Gwent pack that ended up saving them from being injured, calling it a "normal day in Russia".

AntonRauch says that their day started by finding a limited edition copy of The Witcher 3: Hearts Of Stone, which comes with a set of Gwent as a bonus. They then bought the Gwent set, and found themselves in trouble soon after, with a stranger approaching them in an alleyway and asking for a cigarette. The encounter soon turned sour, with a small fight breaking out, and the stranger stabbing AntonRaunch in the stomach.

They said, "I opened the door, went into the entrance, it was light here and saw that a FUCKING knife was sticking out of my stomach… I looked at the place of impact, carefully unbuttoned my jacket, and was already preparing to see a bloody mess, but then the second FUCK came. The knife got stuck in the very deck of [Gwent] that I bought today, I carefully checked whether it did not break through the box and entered my stomach, but apparently, I was born in cuirass, the knife got stuck in the box, and did not come out of it, without hurting me."

AntonRauch remains positive about the experience, saying, "As a result, Gwent did not suffer much, except that Geralt added a new scar. And they can play a part without any problems, and there is only a small hole in the jacket. So, you can not only have a good time with Gwent, but it can also save your life".

The story was originally posted with just text to describe what happened, but AntonRauch made a separate post to share photos. You can see from the images how lucky they were, although the cover now sports a large knife wound. Geralt is probably happy to get more scars to save a life.
