Far Cry 5 is probably the best Far Cry game yet and if you haven’t played it yet, now is your chance. Ubisoft is offering a free weekend basically everywhere Far Cry 5 is available.
Here are the times for the free weekend on the different platforms:
- PC via Ubisoft Store: August 5 at 12 p.m. EDT
- PC via Epic Games Store: August 5 at 1 p.m. EDT
- PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4: August 5 at 3:01 a.m. EDT
- Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One: August 5 at 3:01 a.m. EDT
You will be able to keep your progress, and Far Cry 5 will be discounted during this time:
- PC via Ubisoft Store, Stadia and Steam: 85 percent off of the Standard Edition, 80 percent off of the Gold Edition and 70 percent off of the Season Pass
- PC via Epic Games Store: 80 percent off of the Standard and Gold Editions and 75 percent off of the Season Pass
- PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4: 80 percent off of the Standard Edition, 75 percent off of the Gold Edition and 50 percent off of the Season Pass
- Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One: 85 percent off of the Standard Edition, 80 percent off of the Gold Edition and 50% off of the Season Pass
The biggest takeaway here is that you are, thankfully, not forced to use Ubisoft’s store to enjoy the free weekend or the deals. I don’t think anyone wants to do that.
This is definitely a worthwhile deal if you haven’t had the chance to play Far Cry 5 yet. The open-world, recruitable characters, and great action make it an easy recommendation to see if Far Cry is for you before Far Cry 6 launches. All you really need to know is that you can recruit a bear and go on a rampage killing deranged cult members with a bear, and there is little more in life that I need.
