The HololiveEN VTuber Takanashi Kiara had her account unpublished by YouTube early December 9th; it’s since been reinstated.
Early this morning, fans of the English Hololive VTuber Takanashi Kiara reported on Reddit their subscriptions to her channel being paused and her account no longer being accessible.
User sammywii reports:
“Yeah, I just got the email, and when I went to her channel, it said it was terminated due to ” multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations.”
What the heck happened, her last tweet was talking about emotes she made during her last member’s stream.”
It’s unknown at present what policies Kiara broke on her stream or if it’s a case of YouTube’s automatic system being exploited. However in less than 12 hours from fans noticing her removal, she has since been restored to the service.
YouTube has been criticized in the past for its overzealous moderation, particularly when it comes to copyrighted material. Recently Darkest Dungeon composer Stuart Chatwood had to intervene and stop YouTube from copyright striking users who utilized his music, despite giving explicit permission to do so.
Since the return of her stream, Kiara announced that instead of her planned The Sims 4 stream she will be doing a special “revival stream” in its place. The Sims 4 stream will take place at a later time.
