Guerrilla Games has released a new patch for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, which serves to improve performance and fix a number of crashes. Some of these include a fix for a crash that happens when starting a new game while all save game slots are full. Or various crashes that occur in combat with the AI, when users would back out of the Settings menu upon changing sliders and so on.

In terms of improvements to performance, players should see improved performance for camera cuts during conversations and cinematics. CPU performance has also seen a general improvement, though depending on one’s CPU/GPU speeds, this could range from a 1 to 10 percent improvement. Issues related to pop-in, mouse sensitivity and so on have also been fixed.

Check out the full patch notes for patch 1.04 below for more information. Guerrilla Games is still investing issues like an “out of memory” error that occurs during the optimization process and settings like anisotropic filtering or HDR not working. Stay tuned for more details on fixes in the coming weeks.
