How To Defeat Each Boss In Psychonauts 2

There are several bosses that Raz will have to beat in Psychonauts 2. Each boss has their unique fighting style and weaknesses. By using the right mental abilities, Raz can easily take down the most unyielding enemies. So be sure to upgrade all of your abilities evenly, and always be prepared to change your loadout.

The gameplay of Psychonauts 2 is straightforward and follows the Demon Souls dodge-attack style of gameplay. Although not nearly to the same level of difficulty. You must dodge frequently and follow it with a series of melee and psychic attacks. If you follow this simple principle, you will be able to beat every boss in the game. This guide will cover every boss and mini-boss in Psychonauts and how to defeat them.

Heavy Censor

The Heavy Censor is the first boss fight of the game. Although, he is more of a mini-boss. It’s not a particularly tough boss battle and acts as a tutorial for this type of enemy. Avoid his pound attacks and hit him with PSI blasts and melee attacks.

Lady Luctopus

Lady Luctopus is the first real boss fight of the game. It is a relatively simple boss fight, in which you need to avoid her floor attacks and arm attacks using the chip platforms and your dodge. When she throws explosives bulbs out of her mouth, use your telekinesis to throw one into one of her tentacles. After you hit the tentacle, Lady Luctopus will be temporally unconscious.

You will see several mental connection bubbles leading behind her head. Use your mental connection power to get behind Lady Luctopus and punch her heart. Her attacks will get more intense, but continue to avoid her attacks and throwing a bulb bomb at her tentacles at the right moment. After repeating this process a few times, you will beat Lady Luctopus.

Panic Attacks

You will have to face a few panic attacks in Hellmut Fullbear’s mind. In this level, Panic Attacks act as a boss fight, but you will see them reappear throughout the game. To beat them, use your ability to slow down time and pepper the panic attacks with melee and psychic attacks. Panic Attacks can teleport and throw projectiles, so be prepared to jump and dodge their attacks often. Be persistent, and eventually, you will destroy the Panic Attack.

Judge

The Judge makes his first appearance in Compton Boole’s mind and acts as a kind of mini-boss. The Judge has a gavel that he will swing and slam at you. Use your telekinesis to rip the gavel out of his hands and throw it back at him. He will not spawn a new gavel for a little bit, so get in close and deal lots of damage. If his gavel respawns, repeat the process until he dies.

Gluttonous Goats

The Gluttonous Goats are the final boss in Compton Boole’s mind. To beat them, you will need to avoid their vomit attacks. Eventually, they will throw up some ingredients. The first thing you need to do at this moment is to look at the monitors.

The monitors will have an icon of a specific ingredient, so use your telekinesis to pick the food out of the vomit. Once you find the correct item, toss it into the receptor tube. Compton will cook that ingredient and destroy one of the Gluttonous Goats. Repeat this process until each puppet is defeated.

Die Brarian

The Die Briarian is in Cassie's mind and works a lot like Lady Lucktopus. Essentially, you will want to avoid her attacks and toss items at her with your telekinesis. What you are waiting for is a unique item from one of Cassie's personalities to throw at the Die Brarian. These objects will be library-themed objects glowing blue. When you toss this item at the Die Brarian, one of the personalities will jump into the Die Brarian. After all three personalities jump in, you will defeat the boss.

Bad Mood

Bad Moods are easy to defeat, but they require a little bit of patience. You will need to dodge a few of their attacks until they use an attack that leaves a black and blue mark on the ground. This mark means that they are weak enough for your clairvoyance to work. Use your clairvoyance power on the Bad Mood and follow the arrow to reveal their heart. After you unveil their weakness, use your melee attacks on it until it explodes. The Bad Mood will die shortly after.

Memonstria

Memonstria is a trio of evil flowers that live in Bob Zanotto’s mind. These familiar faces each have a special attack that Raz has to avoid. The Hellmut flower drops cactus bombs that you can throw back at him using telekinesis.

The Truman flower blows a fiery ring that you need to avoid. Finally, the Tia flower will launch rockets at Raz, which you can deflect with a PSI blast. After sending back the bombs and missiles to the flowers, you will eventually do enough damage to defeat Memonstria.

Maligula

Maligula is the final boss to beat in Psychonauts, and she is tough. Not only does she have a lot of health, but she has some devastating attack moves. Her first wave of attacks is hurling water snakes at you. To avoid this attack, dodge the snake before he leaps at you. While the snakes are attacking you, use your PSI blast to do some damage to Maligula.

Continue to move around the platform, avoiding Malligua and dealing damage from a distance. After you do some damage to Maligua, your friends will start appearing to support you. Later in the fight, Maligua will summon some Bad Ideas, which you will need to kill with fire blasts. You can also use telekinesis to throw the idea bombs at Maligula. Keep doing this until you defeat her.
