Luckily, Shibuya is bursting at the seams with unique clothing shops, so there are a lot of brands to choose from. To get the most out of your threads, though, you are going to want to try to become a VIP at each shop in the game.
What Does Your VIP Level Do?
Increasing your VIP level with each shop allows you to have access to an expanded stock and can get you special items when you spend points in your social link. By leveling up your VIP level, you will have access to the best clothes in the game, making it much easier to farm those hard-mode pins. You also won't be able to 100% complete the game without collecting all of the clothes, so VIP points are a must if you are a completionist.

Keep in mind that each brand has its own separate VIP status, so you will need to focus on switching through the games brands as you play. You will naturally earn points while playing throughout the game, but you probably won't find yourself maxing out many brands without using a bit of strategy.
How to Increase Your VIP Level?
There are a few ways to increase your VIP level in the game. The first is by wearing a brand as you battle Noise. Equip each character with a different full brand outfit when possible and then chain tons of battles. You can switch brands as you max them out; once you have a full party, this becomes even easier to do. Luckily, all brands seem to level up at the same speed, so by using proper timing, you should be able to max out several brands at the same time.

If you find the battle method is a bit slow, then you can always farm VIP points by shopping. By going to a branded store and buying up all their goods, you can quickly raise your VIP level. Some players even constantly buy and then sell back brand pins to rank up quickly, although this is a bit hard to do at the beginning of the game as it's pretty costly.
Depending on how you wish to play the game, it may be best to wait until the later weeks when you have more money. You will naturally get points while playing still, making this strategy perfect if you plan on soaking up as much time in the game as possible.
