How To Unlock The Hard Way Trophy/Achievement In A Plague Tale: Innocence

A Plague Tale: Innocence often has hidden moments and secrets for you to access if you follow the right steps. For the trophy/achievements hunters among us, most of these are also accompanied by that satisfying sound and icon popping up on your screen.

While most of these simply involve knowing where to go or what to do, the accolade at the end of Chapter Nine actually takes some combat prowess. Ending the chapter by entering the main doors is not the easiest trophy/achievement to unlock, but following this guide will make sure anyone can do it with ease.

Chapter Nine

Chapter Nine is really the first challenging chapter of the game. By now, you have almost all the tools in your arsenal for Amicia to use against the soldiers. This is also easily the most combat-intensive chapter up to this point.

You sneak through a town at night, with the chapter only ending once you enter the university. Before entering, there is a large area swarming with guards to defeat. Once inside, you can make the first room easier by dropping the cages with rats in the middle. Afterward, you will encounter the final area of the chapter.

Ending Chapter Nine Normally

Normally, you end the chapter by going to the right side of the main entrance through an alleyway. There is an unlocked door here you go through, and you end up in a hallway at the start of Chapter Ten. To get the trophy/achievement, you have to enter through the main doors instead, which are guarded by two shielded soldiers. These two guards can be tough but following the strategy below, you can take them out with ease.

Killing The Two Shielded Soldiers

There is a pretty simple way to take out both guards within a few seconds. Sneak towards the cover right next to the guard on the door's left side (your right). Take out your Devorantis, the projectile that forces soldiers to take off their helmets, and use it on the soldier that is the furthest away from you. This makes the guard closest to you turn his attention to his wounded comrade, leaving his back vulnerable.

To make sure the other guard does not have a chance to react and fully realize what is going on, immediately use Devorantis on him.

The two of them will spend the next several seconds throwing their helmets off, during which you should have more than enough time to take the both of them out with a rock. After, you are free to walk through the main doors and earn that coveted accolade.

If You Fail

If you are caught and get a game over, the checkpoint is right there. If you have already beaten this chapter, you have to do it all over again to reach this part. Considering the combat-heavy nature of the chapter, it does take a while to reach this point again.
