Getting the hang of Hunter's Arena: Legends can take some time, but eventually players will reach a point where they are able to take down others in single combat. While fighting to the bitter end is probably the honorable thing to do, most enemy players will opt to run away rather than fight it out, so it is vital that players know the best way to give chase. Every character seems to have the same move speed, so simply chasing each other down won't accomplish much. Instead, players need to make use of the enemy's Slipstream to catch up to them.
Hunter's Arena: Legends is free on PS Plus this month, so there are a lot of new players on the game at the moment. For experienced players coming over from the early access PC version, this likely means easy pickings, but it also serves as a great way for newcomers to all learn together. Slipstream is an important mechanic to master early.

Whenever the player moves around, they might notice their character leaving behind a blueish trail behind them. As it happens, this isn't just for looks, it is the player's Slipstream. If another player moves inside of this Slipstream, they will gain a boost to their movement speed. This means that if the player is running away from someone, skilled enemies can use the Slipstream to catch up and kill the player. Likewise, when chasing down an enemy player, try to stay in their Slipstream as much as possible, it won't take long to catch up.
There are some things that players can do to mitigate the enemy's ability to follow their Slipstream, but the simplest way to do this is to avoid running in a straight line. The more sharp turns and drops players can add to their Slipstream, the harder it will be for any potential pursuer to chase them down. Don't cut too many corners, though, as it's possible that a simple straight line might be faster than following a convoluted Slipstream. It's a delicate balance and will take time to master.
As long as players remember to stay in the enemy's Slipstream during a chase, it shouldn't be too much trouble to gain on them and finish the job. In team battles, it's important to keep an eye out for the enemy's teammates, as it would be unwise to run straight into a trap. Hopefully this knowledge helps players succeed at Hunter's Arena: Legends.
Hunter's Arena: Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and PS5.
