For the last 20 years, Halo's multiplayer announcer has been beloved by many. Fans rejoiced when it was announced that Jeff Steitzer was coming back as the announcer for the upcoming Halo Infinite. Steitzer, like many voice actors, has a Cameo account where fans can donate to have certain voice requests met. One request stuck out to him personally, and the fan who received it got back a heartfelt message along with their recorded line.
Jeff Steitzer has been the announcer in most Halo titles since Halo: Combat Evolved. As his voice boomed through the speakers while fans went on Sniper Frenzies and made "un-friggin'-believable" kills, they took to calling him the "Voice of God," as it seemed like his voice came through the heavens. Fans who haven't even played Halo have heard the iconic lines, as many of them are used as soundbites in videos online.

Tanis, an FPS enthusiast on Twitter, reached out to Jeff Steitzer on Cameo with a request that stood out to the voice actor. Where Steitzer says that he usually receives requests to say the same lines he's said for many years, along with a request for Crucible lines from Destiny 2, Tanis asked him to say "trans rights." In the video Tanis received, he speaks out, saying that he's seen many struggles in his life and that trans people deserve the same privileges as everyone else. "So, I am happy to say, trans rights," he says, delivering the words in the announcer's voice with a smile.
The message comes from the heart, seen by his smile and how Tanis and other trans fans reacted so enthusiastically in the comments of the post. The video ends with Steitzer personally wishing Tanis and all of her friends well, and Tanis is definitely satisfied with her recording, as she expresses her gratitude in the comments.
Most Cameo requests like this involve the voice actor saying what they're asked to and leaving it at that, but Jeff Steitzer took the chance to deliver a message saying that the words are less of a request and more of something he actually believes in. Many Halo fans had their hearts warmed by the message, trans fans especially.
As the Halo series continues to evolve and reach new heights, LGBT+ gamers can play and hear the announcer's voice with warmth in their hearts, knowing that even the "Voice of God" wants to see them get the same rights as others. Fans are even discussing modding the games to put the line in the multiplayer modes in the comments, but time will tell if someone manages to pull that off.
Halo Infinite, which will feature the multiplayer announcer, is currently in development for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
