Ihe ngosi Pokémon: Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus ga-amalite na 2022

Now that was a surprise. It’s not that the Pokémon series isn’t know for spin-offs—from the trading card game to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon to a bunch of different games and activities in between, Pokémon is a versatile franchise that regularly likes to branch out. Yet, while Pokémon as a whole has built up a ton of lore with characters, locales, and nominal Pocket Monsters that can fill many a bookshelf, the past of this fascinating world is something that has rarely been looked at in the games. That’s about to change with the launch of Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus in early 2022. Take a look:

Now that was interesting, no? Steampunk-inspired Poké Balls appear to just be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this new game. Let’s see what The Pokémon Company has to say about Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus:

The fun of exploring while catching Pokémon and filling in a Pokédex has always been a core part of the Pokémon video game series. Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus was developed with the desire to deliver an experience infused with new action and RPG elements that go beyond the framework established thus far, while honoring the core gameplay of past Pokémon titles.

As Trainers explore the natural expanses in Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus, they’ll encounter Pokémon that call these grand vistas home. To catch wild Pokémon, players can study the Pokémon’s behaviours, sneak up to them, then throw Poké Balls. Players can also battle wild Pokémon with their ally Pokémon. By throwing the Poké Ball holding their ally Pokémon near a wild Pokémon, players will seamlessly enter battle. This new gameplay angle is intended to provide Trainers with an immersive experience.

Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus brings Trainers to the vast Sinnoh region as it existed in the past, long before the setting for Egwuregwu Pokémon na Pokémon Pearl was established. Rich in nature and with Mount Coronet towering at its heart, this is a Sinnoh unlike anything Trainers have experienced before as they embark to create the region’s first Pokédex.

The fan part of this writer can’t help but feel a little giddy reading this and thinking about all of the possibilities. Apparently, in Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus, players can choose to catch Pokémon by simply throwing Poké Balls at them (which sounds like Pokémon: Ka anyị gaa, Pikachu! na Eevee!) or weakening them by battling, which involves throwing a Poké Ball with a party member Pocket Monster inside. Those Poké Balls I mentioned up above? They’re actually made from wood and shoot a puff of steam once a Pokémon is caught!

The world of Sinnoh during the time period of this game is a place where Pokémon Trainers and the Pokémon League don’t exist. Players will choose from the same three starters of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond na Pel na-egbuke egbuke, but beyond these details the main objective of Akụkọ ifo Pokémon: Arceus remains a mystery. One that many fans will gleefully be anticipating partaking in as the march to 2022 trudges along.
