Itch.Io Launches Second Ever Creators Day

Itch.io – the hit indie storefront – has launched its second-ever creators day, giving 100% of the proceeds made from sales back to the developers.

"Running for 24 hours, we're giving creators 100% of sales on the site (after taxes and payment processor fees are taken out)," the blog opened, "That's right. We're not taking a cut. Creators are the backbone of everything we do, so Creator Days are our way of giving back to the folks that make itch.io possible. Developers, I'd encourage you to share your work to take advantage of this event, or even host a sale to get more people to see your projects."

The comments of itch.io's tweet announcing the beginning of the second Creators Day are filled with indie developers sharing their projects. Some are on sale, some are taking full advantage of the celebrations, and some are free-to-play but incentivize topping.

Normally, itch.io takes only 10% of the income made on sales from indie developers, meaning that, on any other day, they get a 90% cut. Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox by comparison take a 30% cut.

What's more, you can easily get itch.io now through Epic Games Store so playing smaller indies is as easy as clicking a couple of buttons.

The deal ends at the end of the day so be sure to grab any indies that have piqued your interest while Creators Day is live – it'll benefit these indie developers even more than usual.
