Kingdom Hearts Merch Back On The Square Enix UK Store After Almost Half A Year Of Absence

Kingdom Hearts merchandise has started making its way back onto the Square Enix UK Store after almost half a year of being mysteriously removed.

In April of last year, several Kingdom Hearts fans noticed that the Square Enix EU and UK store had completely removed any merchandise related to Kingdom Hearts from the store. You could still buy the games, but you couldn't buy any of the figures, badges, plushies, keyrings, or anything.

This was solely limited to Kingdom Hearts as well, with every other Square Enix franchise still having tons of merchandise released and updated. Even stranger than that is the fact that it was only the EU and UK store, with the US Square Enix site still having lots of Kingdom Hearts merch for fans to buy.

Square Enix never commented on why Kingdom Hearts specifically had been removed from the store and the situation was made weirder as more Kingdom Hearts figures were announced for characters like Ventus, Terra, and Aqua. The only thing that fans could get out of Square was that it was a technical issue, or that it was due to the pandemic, which seemed like two separate issues entirely, and not a reason to remove the items from the shop altogether.

Well, it seems like that time of weirdness is over, as the Square Enix UK and EU store is now stocking limited Kingdom Hearts items again. This wasn't announced formally in any way, simply being noticed by fans going on the store or being targeted through Square Enix's Instagram adverts.

Going back on the site shows that much more merchandise is available on the store now, with figures, plushes and more of Sora now being available once more. Strangely, the Kingdom Hearts tab hasn't been properly updated yet, with it consisting of only 16 items. You have to search around to find the rest.

KH13 notes that "Unfortunately, the amount of Kingdom Hearts merchandise available on the Square Enix European store is far less than what is currently available on the North American store."
