Latest GTA: The Trilogy Definitive Edition Patch Fixes a Huge Number of Bugs

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy remake hasn’t enjoyed the smoothest of launches, to put it mildly. The updated character models and the techniques that have been implemented to issue graphical improvements across the board have resulted in a game that looks… different, and not in a good way.

Exacerbating the issue, a huge number of bugs and glitches have rendered the experience a bit of a nightmare to play, and so it’s no wonder the developer has been quick to release updates in order to at least try and rectify the issues.

Today, that continues with a new title update for all three games in the trilogy across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. The same update for the trilogy’s Switch version is expected in the coming days.

As you’ll see below, the number of fixes is substantial, which is both pleasing to see but perhaps raises question marks as to whether the compilation was ready for release in the first place. The most notable changes seem to relate to the new rain effects, which are generally excessive and often spill into areas they shouldn’t.

Here’s the full list of changes via Rockstar Games’ official patch notes:

General – PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC

Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – The Definitive Edition

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition

Xbox One – All Titles

PC – All Titles
