Madden 21 is out now for owners of the MVP edition, and will be available for everyone starting on August 28. All the new features are being explored today in Madden 21, including the highly anticipated game mode The Yard. Plus, it introduces a revamped pass rush system, and Madden 21 is now helping players out with how to use it.

One of the many new features in Madden 21 is the pass rush budget. In previous Madden games, pass rush moves could be used freely, but were less effective if the defender is out of stamina. Madden 21 introduces the pass rush budget, a meter next to the defender that shows how many moves can be performed in a given play with what appears to be a maximum of five moves, most likely reserved for the best pass rushers.

Pass rush moves are performed with the right stick and include moves such as a bull rush, rip, swim, or a speed rush. Each defender has attributes that determine the effectiveness of each move so it is important to know their strengths and best moves. Power rushers have more success using bull rushes and swim moves while finesse rushers can blow by defenders using the speed rush or rip moves. Defenders can also have X-Factor abilities that improve their pass rush based on different moves or blocking scenarios.

On the offensive side, a new meter is displayed on lineman on both the left and right side to indicate the amount of resistance to that side based on a three-meter bar. Defenders can use this to their advantage by attacking the weak side of the lineman. The new pass rush system deepens the gameplay on the line and will make the pass rush more dynamic in Madden 21.

Madden NFL 21 releases on August 28, 2020, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with future releases planned for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
