A glitch recently found in Marvel's Avengers appears to suggest that Wanda Maximoff, the reality-bending mutant known as the Scarlet Witch, may be coming to the game soon as DLC. The glitch appears to have accidentally shown a conversation meant for Wanda to a Marvel's Avengers player who was using Thor.
The Twitter account ?? Marvel’s Avengers Updates shared a 17-second-long clip of gameplay footage showing a player running around as Thor. The glitch appears when the player enters a room where Zawavari is waiting–and he says that this is a present surprise before mentioning the name Wanda. Fans have already expressed interest in seeing Wanda in Marvel's Avengers, and some have responded positively to this apparent glitch.

While the Wanda conversation glitch is especially striking, this isn't the only glitch that players have reported encountering when talking to Zawavari. One user replying to ?? Marvel’s Avengers Updates' Tweet claimed to have gotten a line meant for Loki–again, while playing as Thor–in the game's French version. As of writing, users have yet to report a similar encounter with a conversation meant for Spider-Man, who is expected to be the next character added to Marvel's Avengers.
Despite being a mutant, Wanda has historically been heavily associated with the Avengers rather than the X-Men, so she wouldn't be out of place in the cast of Marvel's Avengers. Combined with the recent airing of WandaVision, now could be a good time to confirm Wanda as an upcoming arrival to the game's playable cast. Her reality-warping powers could take full advantage of next-gen console hardware to pull off effects that might have been impossible on previous generations of consoles. She's also been deeply involved in several major reality-restructuring events in the comics, opening up new potential storylines for the game to address, adapt, or build off of.
As of writing, fans seem to be largely in favor of Wanda appearing in Marvel's Avengers, though several have reservations about the likelihood of her showing up soon. Several other characters have already been found by data miners, suggesting that Wanda may be a ways off. Now that the War for Wakanda expansion has arrived, fans seem to be wondering what's coming next for the game, especially after Spider-Man is finally implemented. The idea of a Wanda-focused DLC appears to be enough to get a number of fans very excited about what could be coming down the pipe.
Marvel's Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
