Marvel’s Avengers Players Share Interest in Team Takedown Animations

Since launch, Marvel's Avengers players have requested Takedown animations that include contributions from multiple characters at once. While there are enemies that characters team up against to perform a finisher animation, such as AIM Blitz Dreadbots, players wish that unique animations could be executed in Marvel's Avengers with particular characters coming together against any enemy.

Unfortunately, fans suggest that despite having intricate, involved animations, they would still have to contend with the Marketplace. Marvel's Avengers' Marketplace, despite having halved its microtransactional costs in the past, continues to safeguard Takedowns and other accoutrements behind a paywall. Many Marvel's Avengers players would presumably rather see matchmaking and general gameplay issues resolved, but some fans have shared their interest in what they wish Takedowns could offer.

The latest Takedown to enter Marvel's Avengers' Marketplace implements a bit of tag-team action with "a little help from Kate Bishop's technology", which results in Captain America kicking his shield into an AIM bot before it vanishes through a purple Quantum rift. Captain America then prepares to catch the shield back onto his arm as it reappears from another rift behind the robot and knocks it to the ground. This Takedown technically involves two Marvel's Avengers heroes, though only Captain America is required to be present for it to be performed appropriately.

All-Father Designs has produced myriad concept designs for their requested features and cosmetics in Marvel's Avengers, and today they have also shared their thoughts in response to Captain America's new Marketplace Takedown. The fan's conceptual art depicts Kate Bishop and the Hulk participating together in an elaborate Takedown animation. The conceptual animation shows Hulk throwing a Monotronic Exo enemy through Kate's rift, then closelining it as it is sent hurtling through another, before Kate lands with a downward stab and Hulk prepares to ground-and-pound.

Another concept from All-Father Designs showcases a Takedown animation between Kate and Kamala Khan, whose embiggened fist is stretched through one of Kate's rifts and appears through another to clobber an enemy on the ground below. Having multiple heroes work together in gameplay would offer a framework for team-oriented combat that rewards Marvel's Avengers players with exciting animations that are unique to the characters involved.

Fans argue that this feature would also be great for players who enter missions with others via multiplayer's Strike Team matchmaking. If the feature was added, they could choose particular heroes whose combined Takedown animations are preferred. Though Captain America's "Modern Take On An Old Classic" Takedown does not legitimately feature two heroes teaming up together for the animation, it is a bit of a frustrating tease for fans who hope they will see such gameplay in Marvel's Avengers' future.

Marvel's Avengers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
