Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill And More Get Controller Support On GOG

Five games in Konami's catalogue now have controller support on GOG. Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, Silent Hill 4: The Room, and Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra can now be enjoyed on most modern controllers.

GOG lists some of the controllers that are definitely included in this update. They include the controllers for the PS5, PS4, and Xbox One X/S, as well as the Nintendo Pro Controller.

According to the blog post announcing the update, GOG is also adding "optimized default key bindings and a few smaller fixes regarding the controller compatibility."

It's not yet known what other controllers are included in this update. However, some players in the replies have noted that PS3 definitely is not compatible with any of the above games. Despite this, the update is received well, with many reporting that compatible controllers work well with Metal Gear titles in particular.

In other GOG-related news, EA recently relisted a selection of its older titles on the site. Ultima Underworld 1+2, Syndicate Plus, and Syndicate Wars were all removed from the site at the publisher's request in June, but were restored following an unexpected fan outcry. As part of the relisting, the title's will remain available for free until September 3. A spokesperson from EA has also said that the company will put more care into deciding on a game's delisting in the future.
