Microsoft is Working on “A Number of Improvements” to Capture and Sharing for Xbox Series X/S

Microsoft have introduced some long overdue improvements to capture and sharing features with the Xbox Series X/S, with the new Xbox controller finally having a share button. It’s generally made capturing and sharing of clips and screenshots easier than it has been on Xbox in the past, but even now, there’s plenty of room for improvements.

Xbox players still regularly face issues with uploads and with options for things such as HDR captures and length of clips. It seems, however, that Microsoft is working on improvements in that area. Recently, responding to comments on Twitter speaking about these issues, Director of Program Management at Xbox Jason Ronald stated that Microsoft is working on “a number of improvements to the capture and share experience” on Xbox consoles. He didn’t provide any details, but added that it’s “a priority for the team.”

Capturing and sharing features have become an integral part of the playing experience for a large number of console players in recent years, so improvements are definitely needed on Xbox. Here’s hoping they come sooner rather than later. Additionally, with Microsoft’s focus on both backward and forward compatibility, the hope is that these improvements will be made on Xbox One as well, not just the newer consoles.

We have heard the feedback and working on a number of improvements to the capture and share experience. Nothing to share yet, but a priority for the team.
