In this guide we'll be breaking down how you can access all of the alternate routes and paths in the Mightywide River stage of New Pokemon Snap. There are paths available for you to use during both the Day and Night routes through this stage, and you need to fulfil certain tasks and reach set Research Levels in order to unlock them. Read down below for everything you need to unlock every path.

Mightywide River Day Alternate Routes – New Pokemon Snap

There is technically only one alternate path here, but your NEO-One does go off course slightly in one of the Research Levels.

On Land Near Tropius – Research Level 2

During Research Level 2 of the Mightywide River, just after passing by the waterfall with the Crystalbloom behind it, a Quagsire will jump into the water, knocking the NEO-One off course, and onto the nearby land where you will see Tropius up close. Make them eat a Fluffruit, and you'll be able to snap a four-star picture.

Moonlit Cave – Research Level 3

The Moonlit Cave is simple to get into, it's just past the land where you see Tropius, on your right behind some vines. The problem is, you need to have already explored this alternate route in Mightywide River Night. Once you've unlocked Mightywide River Night, make sure to get it to Research Level 2 and investigate the path we specify below. Then you will be able to access that same path during Mightywide River Day, as long as you're on Research Level 3.

Mightywide River Night Alternate Routes – New Pokemon Snap

As specified above, you'll need to access this alternate route before you can see the same sights during the day. Follow our instructions below.

Moonlit Cave – Research Level 2

First you need to get the Mightywide River Night stage up to Research Level 2. Once that's done, through the stage until you approach the waterfall with the Crystalbloom behind it. Keep watching right, past the small plot of land where the Tropius relax. There will be several Beautifly hanging onto some vines on the right – use your Scan ability, and you'll be able to go through the vines, finding a hidden cave.

That's all you need to find all of the alternate routes in Mightywide River. It's pretty simple really, but requires the determination to unlock all of the necessary Research Ranks.
