MiHoYo Launch Poll Asking Genshin Impact Fans if they Prefer Original or “Trailer” Rosaria

MiHoYo have quietly opened a poll asking Genshin Impact fans which version of Rosaria they prefer; after wide-spread accusation of censorship.

As previously reported, Rosaria first appeared in 1.2’s story quest as an NPC during several cutscenes. She made her full debut as a playable 4-star character in the 1.4 Invitation of Windblume update, as part of Childe’s limited time wish banner. The update is live, while the event itself begins March 19th. However, fans were quick to notice that her breasts had been reduced in size.

While many feared this was a case of censorship or self-censorship; either from the Chinese government or fear of outcry from online, other characters had been quite busty and high in sex appeal before. As MiHoYo reuse character riggings and meshes, it is possible the character’s breasts were reduced in size to prevent clipping when attacking with her two-handed polearm.

Now, the megathread discussing Rosaria on the game’s official forums has updated to include a new poll (around 13:15 ET), asking if people like the change. This poll was not present during our prior report, and as shown in older archives of the post.

As of this time of writing, over 970 people have voted on whether they prefer Rosaria’s 1.2 model from the Dragonspire update, her 1.4 “trailer” model, or having no preference at all. The poll ends late March 31st, and users must log-in to vote.

Artwork of the character across the official website, trailers, and in-game banners still appear to be based on her original 1.2 design; though the angle does not mean this is definitive. Whether this artwork or the model will be updated after the results of this poll will remain to be seen. As of this time of writing, MiHoYo have made no formal statement on the matter.

In earlier news, the Genshin Impact event being held at Chinese KFC locations was cancelled due to overwhelming demand and large gatherings.

Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the official website), PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
