Sony patents a system which will let spectators to vote and kick players from online games

Sony recently patented this system with the name “SPECTATORS VOTE TO BENCH PLAYERS IN A VIDEO GAME” This could end up being a good system to prevent hackers and cheaters from Online Games but this could also encourage the spectators to troll. I just hope that this system ends up getting executed well instead of becoming an incessant way for spectators to troll players.

The description states, “A method for displaying a video game to spectators includes receiving votes from spectators to remove a player from a video game. The method also includes determining whether the number of votes received to remove the player from the video game meets a threshold level required to trigger the removal of the player from the video game. If the number of votes received to remove the player from the video game meets the threshold level required to trigger the removal of the player from the video game, the method includes generating a command configured to cause the player to be removed from the video game. The method also can include animating the removal of the player and providing visual cues to other players or spectators as to why the player was removed from the video game.”
So basically, there will be a voting system for those who are spectating, and they can vote to kick a player from the game. It only kicks the player when the votes are at a certain amount.
I feel like this patent is very weird, but again it could end up being good depending on how it’s executed by Sony. However, this is not the weirdest thing Sony has patented. They recently patented a way for betting on E-Sports players too
