In this guide we're going to break down everything you need to know about Nectar in Hades. Farming for Nectar is a difficult task, even if you know what you're doing, but the benefits of using Nectar are undeniable, and will help Zagreus in his task to escape from the Underworld. For all of the details you need to use and get more Nectar, just take a glance at our breakdown below.

How To Get More Nectar – Hades

Nectar, formally known as Ambrosia in early versions of the game, is a precious resource in Hades that is very difficult to obtain. There are several methods which are predictable, but for the most part it's a very rare drop.

The first, and possibly the slowest, method of gaining Nectar is as a reward for clearing a room. You will already know that symbols on the doors you enter indicate what rewards you should expect to receive after clearing, and if you see a Nectar symbol, that's a guaranteed drop.

You should also regularly check the Fated List of Minor Prophecies for Nectar-related prophecies, and regularly check if the Wretched Broker is offering to trade for them. Additionally, you can also clear Infernal Troves, but the drop rate is just 1/20, making this one of the least effective ways to earn Nectar, considering the potential risk.

Finally, you can earn Nectar with a handful of boons, and with fishing, but once again these methods will have fairly limited returns, and don't make for ideal ways to farm Nectar.

How To Use Nectar To Get New Items – Hades

Nectar can be given to the NPCs of the game as gifts, and they will reward you in kind.

First, you should attempt to give one Nectar to every NPC in the game. Each NPC will reward you with a Keepsake, of varying worth. Once you give NPCs five-to-six Nectar, you will unlock a unique quest, allowing you to progress your relationship with them further.

Bouldy is the only NPC in the game that you can't max out with Nectar. Bouldy will always accept a Nectar gift, but in return you'll always be able to access a Heart of Stone boon. If you've already maxed out most of the other NPCs and really want that boon, this is a good use of Nectar. Otherwise, you're best off saving for Keepsakes.

If you do have a Nectar surplus, you can always take it to the Wretched Broker, who will have different deals, depending on when you visit.
